Piyyut on the Street

Ehud Banai at YU

Living legend of Israeli music Ehud Banai visited YU for an intimate encounter with our students and the wider YU community on March 27th.

This event is the inaugural program of the Piyyut on the Street Project, a joint initiative of the YU Center for Israel Studies and the Rabbi Arthur Schneier Program for International affairs.

Piyyut on the Street explores Hebrew Poetry in its popular manifestations in Israel and throughout the globe. Banai’s use of Biblical imagery in starkly contemporary ways embodies the power and vibrancy of Hebrew poetry.
